Strategic Planning Leadership
In his role as Director of Business Continuity, Planning, and Operations for the Department of Defense in Augusta, GA, Daniel spearheaded complex executive initiatives. Leading 500 employees across eight cross-functional teams, he expertly diagnosed resiliency planning needs and secured leadership buy-in. With a keen focus on risk management, Daniel guided teams in establishing effective strategies aligned with leadership risk appetite. His leadership extended to overseeing Business Impact Analysis, ITDR plans, and the maintenance of the Business Continuity program. Notably, he conducted Crisis Management and Incident Response training, ensuring preparedness with realistic scenarios.
Strategic Cybersecurity Leadership
During his tenure as Chief Information Security Officer in Wiesbaden, Germany, Daniel managed Communications Security and Cybersecurity departments for a 2000-employee intelligence collection organization. His role enabled 24/7 global intelligence collection operations, and he identified regulatory needs, conducted Threat Analysis, and drove Risk Assessments for an efficient ITDR plan. Daniel not only oversaw a robust ITDR program but also optimized the organization's cybersecurity posture, reducing new user account provisions by eight weeks.
Holistic Business Continuity Management
In a prior role as Business Continuity Program Manager and Chief Security Officer in Wiesbaden, Daniel established a comprehensive Business Continuity program. Conducting Risk Assessments and Business Impact Analysis, he improved security layers and fixed vulnerabilities, fostering a resilient culture through training and awareness campaigns. His leadership extended to overseeing employee onboarding, background checks, physical security, and critical improvement projects.
Logistics and Resilience Expertise
Daniel's journey includes significant contributions as a Supply Chain and Logistics Resiliency Manager in Tacoma, WA. Facilitating resilient operations, supply chain logistics movements, and readiness reporting, he analyzed hundreds of contract operators and coordinated threat assessments and risk analyses, ensuring optimal supply chain resilience in combat environments.
Daniel's academic journey includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Public University System, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University, and an Associate of Arts (AA) in Afghan Language Studies from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.
